“Kids Sweets Showdown” 12/14

MC: Cake of cupcakes (minimum of twelve)
Kate & Diego: SPACE ODYSSEY
Cody & Carrie: WILD JUNGLE
Grant & Anna: UNDERSEA ADVENTURE

SR: Fondant friend (seven min.)
Anna: CRAB
Kate: ALIEN
Cody: MONKEY

W- Kate & Diego

“Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X”- G.F.

They’re taping in CBS TV City’s Stage 36.

IC #15: During this obstacle course run, they had to collect a bag of tiles that were numbered & would crack a combination lock. When that lock was solved, a key would be released & they would have to cover up their numbers before climbing back up to use their key & unlock their pieces to a bat puzzle.
W- David (also received a steak dinner to eat w/ Jay & Adam; remember, Jay had that Reward Steal)

TC #15: Ken used a HII (maybe THAT was the last one available)…DIDN’T need it- he only got one parchment to Jay’s five.

Penultimate IC: A buoy had to be moved through a rope course. They next would need to use two handles to transport puzzle pieces across a teeter-totter. The winner was decided by the castaway who spelled out “NOT A PARTICIPATION TROPHY” on their board first.
W- Ken

TC #16: By a 3-2 decision…in favor of David, Bret was juried.

FINAL IC: W/ the use of a long pole, thirteen bowls had to be maneuvered through a channel & stacked up. If after a half-hr. nobody completed it, whoever was the furthest along when time was called would wear that Immunity Necklace.
HANNAH & KEN WERE TIED AT THE END, SO A FIVE-MIN. TIEBREAKER WAS CONDUCTED
W- Ken

LAST VOTED OUT THIS SEASON- David (over Adam)

SOLE SURVIVOR BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT- Adam

(Final note: Next season will be titled “Game Changers”.)

Cindy!: $4K/Susanna: $1,800

The $800 Literary Lines was the home of the 1st DD for Cindy, who was still pretty ahead w/ $4400; Edward just got off the schneid for two bills. Here was the $1300 answer for Cindy.

“In the interior you will no doubt meet Mr. Kurtz.”

“What is Apocalypse Now?”…now wasn’t the time to question that- that really came from Heart of Darkness. Time expired before the $200/$400 “Us” clues plus the $200 Tree clue.

ATTEMPTED LT: $2800
SOLE UNATTEMPTED TS: $600 (Literary Lines)
TOTAL LT: $3400

More than 1M fossil bones have been recovered at this sticky but popular L.A. tourist attraction.

“What is the La Brea Tar Pits?”…she didn’t get stuck there. The male challenger wasn’t gonna fall Below Zero as soon as he picked the other one in its $1600 space to end the rd. (leaving out its $1200 & $2K answers), having $7400; Cindy was in five figures, $13.5K to be exact. He chose to wager $2K as well.

From sea level, it’s 400 meters down to the shore of this landlocked Middle Eastern body of water.

“What is the Dead Sea?”…was right.

12/14/16 Quick News & Notes

-Julie Chen was on “watch what happens L!VE” last night & an audio clip of her saying “But first” (which I also see after clips of the featured stories are shown on HBO’s “VICE News Tonight”) served as the evening’s drinking game.
-Last night on “@midnight”, a rd. of Rock, Paper, Scissors was done in FTW to determine who won.
-“America’s Next Top Model” has a new logo & NO LONGER uses their usual theme music.
-When GOPHER was solved w/o any extra help, the bonus prize won was a trip for four to Europe worth over $19K (& the clip of Pat frisking the player was edited out of the broadcast). And when the VOLVO C70 Conv. was won for the last time that same season, it was worth $48K+.
