As we begin this Friday, I would like to make a correction from yesterday. ant0824 correctly pointed out that Mark Westergard (TPIR AN) was the actual Top Winner on Thursday with $204,905 C & P, thanks to Grocery Game. Thank you ant…sorry for this oversight. He will be acknowledged tonight in our HONORABLE MENTIONS.

Now, to remind you all…this Week 38 will conclude tonight with the Season Premiere of LINGO following WOF, so stay tuned…that show will be counted in the week’s final standings.

On that note…Prelim. 5/24 TPIR #1 – We will have a skunked Act I with no car win in CoverUp. More to follow.

Prelim. 5/24 TPIR #2 – For the third straight week, NO MONEY GAME…we had Stack The Deck, and it will be lost for a DCL (still no advanced word on LMAD so we don’t know if it will be a CBS CGW). More to come.

Prelim. 5/24 TPIR #3 – Low SC won for a car creates…uh oh, Ismael is on standby for a Car Dilemma. More to come.

I predict we will have 2 majors with winning weeks this week (TPIR & J!),

Be patient…the full TPIR results aren’t even up yet. The way today’s show went, I doubt it.

By the way, I am beginning my Week 38 summary right now with the CBS shows and J!. Speaking of J!…

Prelim. 5/24 J! – 2 DDs miss in an otherwise low-scoring Main Game, while 2 F! correct answers leads to the champ succeeding again. More to come.

With full TPIR results not yet up due to yet another Special Report in the reporting area, we have basic results courtesy of the official TPIR Discord channel…

Act I: One Wrong Price, CoverUp (Car Game #1), and Shell Game – all L (skunked Act I)

Act II: Range Game – W, Bargain Game and Stack The Deck (Car Game #2) – both L (DCL/CBS CGW).

With cars in both SCs, another opportunity for a DSW blown as the Low one was won, creating yet another Car Dilemma for Ismael.

I’ll explain what this all means for J! in my Rating and Assessment coming later.

    WEEK 38 SUMMARY

Grand champions and grand losers headline our week full of season finales, so without further adieu…

    DAYTIME –

LMAD – Same ol’ story here, too many bad deals, too many Sole Survivors.  On the bright side, our only major win this week came on Monday’s show as we broke our latest Car Jinx with Marcus sucessfully trading from his $5,927 Montreal trip to the BD for a car, snuck by Brady behind Door #3 this time around for this season’s 13th On-Target (i.e. revealed second) BD win.  And as far as we are concerned, our week ended there as it was downhill from that point.  Wednesday’s and Thursday’s shows were the wrong time to pick Door #1 in the End Game as its players traded down—Fedra ended up with a DJ suite on Hump Day, while Megan ended up with a Vault Out on Friday Eve  (#3 had a car too).  In other words, three of the five BDs this week had cars, only one was won.  Monday’s Car Game play of Accelerator was lost, eventually resulting in a Car Game Skunk (as opposed to a Car Skunk, avoided right off the bat in Monday’s End Game).  Another bad week in the Brady office. (Losing Week)

TPIR – Before we talk about the Low Points of the past week (and there were a lot of them), let’s talk about the High Ones.  A few PGs were played twice this week, one of which was Temptation, and we had an historic moment with it.  Now you have heard the news this past week that the day Carey dies will be the day he retires from TPIR…but imagine what if Kelly Clarkson were the host and she would have given away two cars in Temptation? Anyway we had history made this week—not only was Monday’s play the first time it was won all season (as opposed to Good Bailouts), it was also the first time it was fully won in front of an audience since 10/28/15!  Way to go, Donald (more on him later).  This was followed on Thursday’s AN by an $80K+ Maserati won by Samantha Hollow.  But the wins did not stop there.  Our ANs this week produced some huge wins, such as Thursday’s Grocery Game $200K get by Mark Westergard, who turned out to be the week’s biggest winner with Carey.  Sadly, between all of our shows this week, we had disappointments.  The biggest game here this week was Thursday’s Punch A Bunch for $800K, that opportunity was lost with the first pick by Thad Rosenthal (he bailed out later with $50K—more on his fate later).  The biggest SC of the week also came on Thursday, with an $81,824 package (incl. a car) – that was lost by Mark, who would have ended up an even bigger winner anyway.  In the end, despite all those big wins, we had more losses in Price City, the Low Light being Monday’s Line ‘em Up for another $80K+ car.  This was a tough call for me, but logistically and statistically, we came out on the wrong side of the road.  Sorry, JL. (Losing Week)

J! – Jennings did not have to stump the panel once in the End Game this week…for once!  The latest cycle of Masters ended with a great finale (including an Aced Act II with all Bonus Cards-DDs and F!s—swept), resulting in Victoria Groce being this season’s Grand Champion.  Meanwhile, in syndication, we had our share of low scoring Main Games with a DD shutout on Thursday’s show (Jennings’ birthday, by the way).  As far as our 5xC Crisis went, 4xC Grant DeYoung sadly came within a Rabbit’s Hair of an automatic ToC ticket when he lost on Tuesday to Chris D’Amico, who in turn became the latest one-and-doner to be excused on Wednesday’s show.  But statistically adding all of this week’s shows here, it was the final JM! outcome that made the difference. (Winning Week)

WOF – This jackpot week in America’s Game was anything butt…literally.  Thursday’s show started with probably the ZONK ANSWER OF THE WEEK when Tavaris Williams gave his appalling Toss Up Answer of “Right In The BUTT” 😛 The correct answer was “This Is The Best”.  But the lunacy didn’t stop here, folks.  Paul Dodson (from Wednesday’s show) took his MDW to his BR, but his bad choice of letters resulted in the infamous “QU- Trap” costing him his car and Jackpot (the answer there was “Quibbling”).  Anyway we had 2 BR wins this week, the first on Tuesday for a car and the $22K+ jackpot by Blake Swoboda, who went home with $96,750 C & P, followed on Friday by BR win #2 by Michael Bystrzyckiwhoended our Daytime Slate this week sweeping a trip, the Jackpot, and a car, as Sajak’s biggest winner of the week with $111,160 C & P.  Too bad the rest of the week (especially with our other BRs) were just as appalling as Tavaris’ sorry NSFW answer.  (Losing Week)

    PRIMETIME –

REGULAR GAME SHOWS – Clo took home $57K on THE WEAKEST LINKVanessa Hudgens was exposed as the Golden Mask winner in the season finale of THE MASKED SINGER, and Kyle was the last man standing with $99K on the premiere of THE 1% CLUB.

REALITY COMPETITIONS – Scroll below for details.

COOKING SHOWS – Robbie Jester was the latest CHOPPED champion; and Jeff Tedmori & Cody Soodeen were the first to be eliminated from the new season of GORDON RAMSEY’S FOOD STARS.

HONORABLE MENTIONS – In a week of season finales, we had many players in the $100K+ Club—we began our overall week with Abi Carter winning at least $125K with season 22’s AMERICAN IDOL as our first ever Platinum Ticket winner to go on and win it all, and the first one in four years we have a female champion.  She will get an additional $100K if she completes her first album within 4 months.  Meanwhile, also in the $100K+ ClubBryson McGlynn as this season’s MASTERCHEF JUNIORchampion; Anthony Curley for winning this season’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCEJM! winner Victoria Groce (with the second biggest prize in Week 38, $500K), plus runners-up Yogesh Raut (at $250K), James Holzhauer (at $150K), and Amy Schneider (at $100K); Asher HaVon for winning THE VOICE; Jareb, the season’s first big winner of DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS; Samantha Hollow (Thursday’s TPIR AN) for the biggest Temptation win of the season, with $106,148 C & P (incl. an $86,359 ’24 Maserati Grecale Modena), for better or worse, Chance Frey (also from Thursday’s TPIR AN) at $113,490 (incl. the Low SC), and we ended Week 38 with Jessica & Ashley taking home a total of $297K in their two games of LINGO.

SPECIAL MENTIONS – Donald Whitaker (TPIR) for becoming the first contestant to fully win Temptation in front of a studio audience since October 28, 2015.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – No brainer here…SURVIVOR’s Kenzie Petty, pocketing $1M as grand champion this week.

GOOSE EGG PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Since we had so many players that lost significantly, I will leave that decision to Ismael on GSQ…this time around, he can say “thanks, deepscan”.  All the DISHONORABLE MENTIONS are self-explanatory in my show descriptions.

FINAL COUNT THIS WEEK – 11 cars, 15 DDs, 17 F!s, 1 BD, 2 each in our SDs and MDs, 2 High & 5 Low SCs, 2 new J! champs, and $2,835,000K+ cash.

BLOOD COUNT THIS WEEK – 24 cars (more lost than won), 12 DDs, 9 F!s, 4 BDs, 5 trips, 4 Low & 2 High SCs, and over $830K+ cash.

OVERALL RATING THIS WEEK – 14 of 20 (Primetime) + 2.5 of 10 (Daytime) = 16.5 of 30 (Overall Losing Week, with J! the only Major Winning Show in Week 38).

That is the tale of Week 38.  Join us next week for the penultimate Week 39 of our Game Show Season, and have a great weekend!
