Mattea does a James (who’s not in this game) by choosing the DD right away behind the 1K Holidays & Observances clue.

Held during the 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar this festival began as a search for poet Qu Yuan, who drowned in a Yangtze tributary.

“What is..the Harvest Festival?”…nope- Dragonboat.

Matt (8K) dials up a TDD on the 800 row in Inventors & Inventions; he can’t catch Victoria (16,600) at this time & Mattea’s 3rd w/ 6200.

In 1873 Helen Blanchard received a patent for 1 of these that could zigzag.

“What’s…scissors?”…no- what’s a sewing machine? Victoria (20,200) holes out DD #2 from Aaron Burr & Friends & makes a 7K bet.

In 1877 Congress commissioned the Electoral Commission after he got 184 electoral votes but needed 185- it didn’t end well for him.

“Who is Samuel Tilden?”…that should ice this game.

“Who is..John Updike?”…right. Yogesh (23,600) picks DD #2 assigned to the 1200 Kernel of the Clue; James (7400) & Amy (6600) are well back. Yogesh makes the min. bet of 5 (each clue in this category except for this 1 is shown at the bottom-left corner of the screen).

We did not fare too well with our DDs overall in Night 1 of Masters. Only one (Matt) got F! correct in Act I but still lost the opening game (Victoria won the match). We did get an End Game Triple Get in Act II with Yogesh moving on. It is what happened in Act I, however, that affected my rating.

Due to the one correct End Game player in Act I who still lost the game…

    RATING6 of 10 (Act I) + 50/50 Split (Act II) = 11 of 20 (Overall Losing Show)

At mid-week, we are even at 2 Winning and 2 Losing of six shows this week.

    MASKED SINGER is next.

Let the Masters restart! Victoria and Yogesh had something to say with their strong debuts. 👏🏾

    1. Matt would’ve been neck and neck with Victoria but for his Daily Double. 😳
    2. Whew, I would’ve bombed the spelling and kernel categories. 😬
